This is the Elevator attached to the Cantagalo Favela in Rio De Janeiro People use it to commute from the favela (on the hill) into work in the lower richer parts of Rio. I was fascinated by this building and this concept of commuting. The elevator arrives at the General Osorio Subway station. Some say it is a sign of gentrification of the favelas, while other say it is a sign of Brazil’s growing middle class, either way it
